Environmental Toxins And Cancer Risk: The President’s Cancer Panel Report

Last week, the President’s Cancer Panel released a report entitled “Reducing Environmental Cancer Risk: What We Can Do Now.” I first learned about the report on May 6 from an op-ed column by Nicholas Kristof. I enjoyed Mr. Kristof’s summary of the report, though the information it contained did not shock me: as a cancer researcher, I already knew that environmental factors are involved in causing cancer.

Oil, Gas Investment In Colorado On The Rise Despite Environmental Regulations

After a punishing year when natural-gas prices slid to their lowest level since 2002, there are signs of life in Colorado’s oil and gas fields.
The state’s largest publicly traded producers have, in the past few weeks, issued capital forecasts for 2010 showing rigs and money flowing into Colorado.
Still, the state is facing competition as some companies move money and equipment to Texas, Pennsylvania and Louisiana, and smaller operators continue to hold off on drilling.
